We got lots of calls yesterday.  As former residents of Aumsville Oregon, and now just living about four miles from where the tornado touched down, people were wondering just how widespread the destruction was in this quiet little town.

I zipped out there this morning finding main road cleared and lots of camera crews from the local and Portland news stations.   Today we’ve got lots of beautiful blue sky – a very different picture than yesterday!

A few side streets were closed, large light poles were erected outside damaged homes to keep looters at bay and I know that various agencies such as the search and rescue were on duty through the night guarding damaged homes.

It was amazing how one home and yard would be in perfect condition, while the neighboring home was severely damaged.  Trees uprooted, roofs torn off – amazing examples of how quickly and violently mother nature moved through this town.

I think it’s miraculous there was no lives lost or serious injuries!  We heard that the damage effected 10 businesses and 50 homes.  It was amazing how well everything was cleaned up, boarded, fenced and protected.  We’re hoping for quick insurance response and restoration for these victims!
