Dear Creative Concepts:

Does your staging agreement call for a minimum furniture rental time period? I have a vacant home in Salem Oregon and have been talking with some staging companies and getting bids. It is currently listed for $275,000. The staging company we were considering has a four-month minimum.

Sincerely,
West Salem Home Seller

Dear Home Seller:

where to find staging furniture in OregonAll staging companies have a minimum furniture rental time period.

Recently we staged a home that had been on the market for two months. It had a showing the day after it was staged and received an offer! Did the home sellers remove the staging that week? No, they waited until all the appraisals and inspections were complete and they were confident of a successful sale. The staging was removed in about 21 days.

Our minimum furniture rental period is 30 days. Future month’s rental is pro-rated. Even in this current real estate market, we rarely have had a home staged for four months. This seems like an especially long contract period and perhaps is an item you should negotiate before signing the contract!
