One of the best things about our job as professional home stagers is that often WE get to learn some new things too!

Yesterday my client was the queen of hairspray….has used it for years and has quite a build up of hairspray on the wall behind the bathroom vanity.  Washing this with warm water just doesn’t work (I know from experience).

How to remove it without damaging the finish on doors or walls?

cleaning

Dampen a terry or microfiber cloth with some isopropyl alcohol (70 percent) and rub over the surface.

Wipe with a dampened cloth, then dry with a clean, absorbent cloth.

If the area still feels tacky, sponge it down with hot water mixed with a few drops of liquid dish soap.

         Wipe and dry.

Waxing or polishing the woodwork will make it easier to clean the next time!

Have other challenges when preparing your home for sale?  We’ve got lots of tips and tricks to help you get the job done quicker and more effectively.  We’d love to hear from you!
